Polly Krier, a personal shopper in the Tri-Cities, has shopped at both Plum and Vive. She feels the variety each store has to offer is a good reflection of the clientele in the area.  “The retail climate in the Tri-Cities is like no other, “she says of the steadily growing community filled with home-based businesses, young families and a love of the outdoors.  “Comfort without fashion compromise is the name of the game.”  Krier notes that women in the Tri-Cities have turned athletic wear into high fashion.  A store like Plum, with it’s sportswear section, caters directly to this trend.  “You don’t have to jump on every single great trend out there – you can take part of it on to keep with the trend,” Krier advises, stressing the importance of age appropriateness and personal comfort when adding to your closet.

Krier points out that shopping has become easier now that the “must have” trend is slowly disappearing.  “Now it’s more about interpretation.  It’s not what you wear – it’s how you wear it,” She explains.  This newfound flexibility gives mothers and daughters the opportunity to shop together and buy similar items, yet wear them in ways that complement their body type, age and personal sense of style.
